Impact: Words from Trainees in the US and abroad.

"I had a very good experience at U.S. My colleagues here are very nice and I have learned a lot of useful skills from those guys. I also enjoyed the life in U.S. I visited many beautiful places in U.S. All the trips are amazing. Attached is a photo i was touching the Michigan Lake. It was summer when I took that pic, so the time goes fast… Anyway, the past 8 months will be a memorable page in my life. And I really appreciate all the helps come from AIESEC. Welcome to China if you have a chance."

~Jin Wu, trainee at Delphi with AIESEC Michigan.

*ZAPS*

And now introducing (or re-introducing) a new blog feature: ZAPS!
ZAPS will go out to any LC member or LC as a whole that is doing really awesome things through AIESEC.

Today's ZAPS go out to... Appalachian State!!!!!

A number of members were featured in an article in the Appalachian State University News publication.
Nine Appalachian State University students traveled to Puerto Rico Nov. 6-10 to attend the AIESEC National Conference and participate in networking activities... The Appalachian students stayed in the homes of Puerto Rican students during part of their trip. The conference focused on two main goals. Students hoped to obtain a better understanding of AIESEC International’s mission, goals and structure and ways to become more involved with AIESEC. Participants also focused on personal development through leadership seminars, team building strategies, cross-cultural communication and time management activities.

If you have any recommendations for outstanding AIESECers who should be recognized in the ZAPS feature, please contact Nisha or Carly.

Staff Profile: Carly Caldrone

Today, we're introducing: Carly Caldrone!

What do you for AIESEC US:
Business Development. I work with all of our customers and trainees to make sure we are delivering all of the services they need.

Education info:
Miami University, 2006
International Studies and Italian

Childhood Dream:
I really wanted to have my own cooking television show. I would make these really elaborate recipes and separate each ingredient out in these tiny bowls like they do on TV where it is all prepared. Then I would pretend that I was hosting a show like Debbie Fields (she was my favorite). My parents would get really upset because there were so many dishes to clean. Now my cooking abilities have been reduced to spaghetti-o's or grilled cheese sammiches.

Proudest moment:
Getting out of Eastlake.

Motto you live by:
It's cliche, but I really like to think that everything happens for a reason.

If you could go anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would it be and why:
I've always really wanted to check out Bhutan. It is supposed to be the happiest country in the world. They even have a Gross National Happiness measure.

Guilty pleasures:
I like to do the NYT crossword puzzles. I'm not good at them and that is why I am guilty - I usually have to google at least some of the answers. And on Sundays? fuggedaboutit.

What inspires you:
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/shiba-inu-puppy-cam

Heroes:
Dalai Lama, Tina Fey, LeBron James

Dream job:
My life plan changes every couple of months or so. My dream job would allow me to do something new every other year so that I don't get bored.
